Chinese entrepreneur Chen Guangbiao has launched a line of canned air for the Chinese market, to give people something to breathe that isn't the smog-filled Beijing air. Guangbiao, a billionaire who has become known for his stunts, is selling the product to bring more attention to the problems of pollution in China:

It comes with atmospheric flavours including pristine Tibet, post-industrial Taiwan and revolutionary Yan'an, the Communist Party's early base area.

Chen said he wanted to make a point that China's air was turning so bad that the idea of bottled fresh air is no longer fanciful.

"If we don't start caring for the environment then after 20 or 30 years our children and grandchildren might be wearing gas masks and carry oxygen tanks," said Chen.

Will this stunt do anything to curb China's coal use and encourage more bike use? Seems unlikely. At least they'll have clean air to buy.

When I first saw bottled water in plastic bottles, I thought it was a scam. I still do. What next, I thought, canned air from Florida?

If this helps reawaken us to the evils of Communism, under which 1.3 billion people still suffer, it would have done us and the Chinese people some good. More good would be done if the USA would stop exporting American jobs to the Communist slavemasters.

the idea of selling air is pure capitalism (a Ferengi would be proud of), and a lucrative way to make a protest, instead of spending on cardboard and logistics to get your point, you earn money by having like minded (and less resourceful followers) buying your stuff.
