    As someone who is nearsighted, and always got yelled at for trying to sit "too close to the tv" (in order to see it more clearly), and whose worldview improved dramatically when I gave up TV entirely, I would just like to thank you for this article.

    It wasn't TV Watching that they always yelled was going to make me go blind. Hmmm... Let's see, what was it? I can't quite seem...
    Oh. Now I remember! It was....ummm...

    I've sat close to the tv when I was kid for many years and my vision would end up like it always was. Somebody told me that sitting too close to the tv could hurt my eyes, but I did it anyways because my eyes never changed.
