Congress's budget cut decelerates U.S. high-energy physics research

Although NOvA has not been canceled, the suspension of funding may lead some of its scientists to abandon the effort. "The question is whether you can put a project on mothballs for a year and bring it back again," says Mark Messier of Indiana University, one of the spokesmen for NOvA. "The signal this sends is, 'Go do your research somewhere else.'"

Some things are too critical to the American Spirit and to the future of science to be nickel and dimed. Congress needs to rise above their partisan issues and envision what science of the future will look like without the USA as a leader. Don't be penny wise and pound foolish! Fund Fermi and it's future excellence.

    special relativity.
    Don't close Tevatron!
