Reply | Report Abuse | Link to thisThe interesting outlier (somewhat) is Costa Rica - also featured as one of the "Blue Zones" (recent book by Dan Buettner), with an unusual percentage of people living past 100 years...They must be doing something right there, even without a lot of wealth.

But in reality, it is the way they 'hold' events/ideas (what something 'means' to them) and the choices they make (such as whether to forgive or to instead hold a grudge) that determine their subjective experience and thus their happiness or unhappiness with life.
