Oh, look at the picture. They're so cute and furry and cuddly. They've just GOT to be saved!

I imagine sarcasm and ignorance will be replaced with concern when humans are put on the endangered species list.

Human are rarely cute, furry, or cuddly. Perhaps that is why their interests are so often put behind a slew of other species.

I have to chuckle when I read about the disappearing Arctic ice. Try looking at Climate Change - Is CO2 the cause? - Pt 1 of 4, http://bit.ly/UbSqvB from Professor Bob Carter, of James Cook University, Australia. There is a bit of humor at the end when he describes how the polar bears and other Arctic life survived the past warming periods.

Nah, humans have been endangered in whole or in part quite a few times and we are still fun to make fun of.

They are fat, mean and smell like fish. That isn't cuddly at all. As a kid I was a hardcore green but as I grew up and learned how nature works I have to wonder if maybe it is OK to let some things go extinct as long as we insure that the over all system can still support some human life.

There will have to a major extinction event(s) in the next few thousand years. Otherwise, Noah's boat will sink.
