    Dear Sci-Am,

    On page 18 of this issue there is an interesting article about the plasticity of the human babies brain at birth.

    Is there any evidence, that, as the infant begins to make sounds and learns to articulate the language around it, the sounds it makes, together with the way the throat and tongue are used differently in each language have any effect on the throats structure.

    Or on the facial and head types seen in Humans?
