None of these approaches is a magic bullet. Health care is too complex, requiring coordinated efforts on the part of many different individuals, for any single initiative to provide all the answers. Still, they offer powerful, evidence-based tools to control costs in a fair and reasonable manner. They need to be scaled up. Otherwise, chances are that in the future medical care in the U.S. will be crueler, more arbitrary and available only to the wealthy.
