The moon, Jupiter and Venus come together

Enlarge Sarcasticism on Flickr MORE IMAGES

On December 1, the crescent moon and the two brightest planets, Jupiter and Venus, converged in the evening sky. Under clear skies, the celestial triumvirate was plainly visible to the naked eye. In this view Venus, the brightest of the planets, is just above the treetops.

Kuala Lumpur, Malasia December 1st 2008, 2000 hrs local time. Seen in the western sky at about 75 degrees from horizon. The perfect smiley face. The crescent moon was facing upwards with two stars in the perfect position for the eyes. A photograph failed to record it. Apparently this was expected and mention in the local press. However the skies over KL at night are invariably cloudy , so this was a special event. Is this the same
conjunction of the planets and moon mentioned above and how the smiley face. Mike Bartleyy Cardiff UK.
