The moon, Jupiter and Venus come together

On December 1, the crescent moon and the two brightest planets, Jupiter and Venus, converged in the evening sky. Under clear skies, the celestial triumvirate was plainly visible to the naked eye. In this view Venus, the brightest of the planets, is just above the treetops.
