Worldview: A Global Biotechnology Perspective

BIO, the world’s largest biotechnology organization, partnered with SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN to develop SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN WORLDVIEW, a powerful and credible advocacy tool. Their goal: to illustrate to international policymakers the value of bioscience solutions and the importance of a regulatory framework that fosters innovation.

SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN WORLDVIEW:

• Produced in association with the BIO, WORLDVIEW is an independent editorial and media program to assess the state of biotechnology and innovation across the globe.
• It is distributed to a global print audience of 150,000 scientific, financial and policy opinion leaders and tens of thousands more through its own web presence.
• WORLDVIEW seeks to focus the discussion of market access, intellectual property law, cutting-edge science, and other topics relevant to international bioscience development and commercialization.
• Its unique "Scorecard", a country-by-country outlook of the best innovation climates for knowledge development, is fast becoming a key industry index.
• As a showcase media vehicle, it offers sponsors a range of visibility platforms to tell their unique story of innovation including print, digital and event exposure, as well as the opportunity to use the content for their own communication and outreach goals.

WORLDVIEW was launched at the Biotechnology Industry Organization’s annual international convention with a special event and media outreach.

In 2009, the editorial team of WORLDVIEW was invited to present its content and mission to the APEC Life Science forum in Singapore in front of the most important science and technology policymakers in the Asia Pacific region. Other premier life science industry events in which WORLDVIEW is showcased include: World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology, BIO Investor Forum, BIO Europe International Partnering Conference, BIO CEO and Investor Conference, BIO Asia.
