Science jobs from ORAU/OR:
1. refine the influence of climate extremes and [CO2], independently and together, on the physiology, growth and yields of crops 2. investigate the physiological mechanisms most susceptible to these conditions.
The selected applicant will accomplish these tasks by using state-of-the-art physiological, molecular and biochemical techniques as well as gas flux analysis technologies appropriate for each of these different scales.
To be eligible, applicants must have received a doctorate degree in plant biology, agronomy, or a related field of study that has equipped the applicant with the necessary knowledge, skill and abilities to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. Working knowledge of plant physiology, biochemistry, and/or plant molecular biology is required, as is an understanding of statistical analyses. Experience with leaf-level gas exchange, controlled environment experiments, and isotopic measurements using both TDLs and mass spectrometers is highly desirable.
While participants will not enter into an employment relationship with ARS, this position requires a pre-employment check and a full background investigation.
