Our top-class Research & Development team is currently looking for a Catalyst Development Chemist and an Organic Chemist to join us. The Catalyst Development Chemist will: Design and synthesise new multidentate/macrocyclic ligand systems; Characterise and test new homogeneous complexes for polymerisation catalysis;
Educational background and experience A PhD in Inorganic/Organic chemistry including ligand/catalyst development, or 3 years of relevant industrial experience; Excellent technical synthetic laboratory skills, in particular for the synthesis and manipulation of compounds under inert atmospheres and the use of spectroscopy for characterisation;
The Organic Chemist will: Synthesise and characterise new multidentate ligands and their precursors including amino/imino and phenolate functionalities; Develop synthetic routes to new ligands;
Educational background and experience A PhD in organic chemistry or 3 years of relevant industrial experience; Excellent technical synthetic laboratory skills, expertise in amine synthesis and purification, and reduction chemistry highly desirable;
Experience and knowledge of polymer chemistry and/or polymerisation catalysis and characterisation desirable for both roles.
