The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Clemson University seeks candidates to fill one or more open faculty positions in experimental biophysics at the tenure-track Assistant Professor or higher level to begin in or after January 2015. We invite applicants with an interest in developing a research program at the frontier of physics, life sciences and medicine with a possible focus on experimental molecular biophysics, and nanobiology. Special preference will be given to candidates whose research interest lies along Clemson's strategic research emphasis areas on biotechnology and biomedical sciences, sustainable environment, and advanced materials. The successful applicant will be joining a thriving department with active programs in experimental and theoretical biological physics, single molecule biophysics, advanced materials, condensed matter theory, astrophysics, atmospheric and space physics, experimental and theoretical quantum physics, and atomic and molecular physics. Applicant's qualifications should include a PhD in Physics or closely related field, a record of substantive research, and excellent teaching skills at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate will be expected to establish vigorous externally funded research programs.
