Requisition number: Postdoctoral Position in Molecular Biology/Signal Transduction/ Cancer/Inflammation

Science jobs from Université de Liège (ULg):
A post-doctoral position is available starting on October 1st 2014 in the Unit of Signal Transduction (Dr. Alain Chariot) (Interdisciplinary Cluster for Applied Genoproteomics, GIGA-R, University of Liege, Belgium, http://www.giga.ulg.ac.be/). We are seeking a talented and highly motivated post-doctoral candidate in order to explore the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying the deregulated NF-kappaB activity seen in haematological and solid tumours, with a special emphasis on the NF-kappaB inhibitory molecules (Viatour et al., Molecular Cell, (2004); Keutgens et al. Molecular and Cellular Biology, (2010). Another project is dedicated to the elucidation of mechanisms by which the acetylase Elongator regulates cell migration (Close et al., Molecular Cell, (2006); Creppe et al., Cell, (2009), Close et al., JBC, (2012)). A third project focuses on the molecular characterization of the signalling cascades required in innate immunity, with a special emphasis on the TBK1/IKKepsilon-dependent pathways (Shostak et al., Cell Death and Differentiation (2014)). Previous experience in these fields and/or in genetically modified mouse models of cancer is preferred but not mandatory. Published evidence of aptitude for high quality research is essential and priority will be given to candidates ready to undertake work outside normal working hours. Applications (from recently qualified PhD students and from postdoc scientists with no more than 5 years post-doc-PhD experience): Please send a cover letter describing your interests in Biomedical Research and your previous scientific contributions, a CV listing your publications as first and co-author and at least two reference letters to Alain Chariot (alain.chariot@ulg.ac.be).
