Director, Neuroscience Program Ottawa Hospital Research Institute The Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI) is an Affiliated Research Institute of the University of Ottawa and the research arm of The Ottawa Hospital. The OHRI has grown rapidly to become one of the largest and most important hospital-based research institutes in Canada. The OHRI in conjunction with the University of Ottawa and The Ottawa Hospital are seeking to fill a senior level leadership position as Director of the Neuroscience Program. The ideal candidate will have established leadership skills and a national and international reputation for contributions to basic and/or applied neuroscience research. The new Director will have the opportunity to build on a team of successful, established scientists and clinician scientists focused on cutting edge research areas including cell signaling, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, stroke, spinal cord injury, etc. The OHRI Neuroscience Program is a key hub of the newly formed University of Ottawa Brain and Mind Research Institute that brings together lab and clinical researchers to develop innovative strategies to understand and treat brain illness. The OHRI is also a founding member of the Heart and Stroke Foundation Centre for Stroke Recovery, linking Neuroscience Program researchers with colleagues outside of Ottawa in research related to recovery from stroke. The Neuroscience Program has approximately 160 staff, scientists, investigators, and trainees. Candidates interested in exploring this opportunity should have a PhD and/or MD, as well as a strong track record of a successful independent research career.
