High Content Scientist - Scientist I/ Scientist II The Biologics Screening team develop biochemical and cell based assays to enable identification and downstream characterisation of new candidate drugs across different therapy areas (respiratory and inflammation, oncology, cardiovascular and neuroscience).

We are seeking a talented Scientist I/II to join the Screening team in the Antibody Discovery and Protein Engineering (ADPE) team at MedImmune, in a laboratory-based high content cell imaging specialist role. Specifically, the employee will design, develop, analyse and interpret high content assays, using an Opera platform, to support drug discovery programmes.

Role Responsibilities

Design, establish, validate and implement high content assays to support drug discovery projects Analyse high content imaging data using Acapella software Recommend high content imaging assay formats that can support drug discovery programmes. Independently interpret high content data and make recommendations from findings to project teams Evaluate new technologies and software that will contribute to high content imaging process improvements Interact with project teams and key customers/stakeholders, presenting scientific findings at project team meetings Co-ordinate activities with screening and project team members Coach others in planning, establishing high content assays and analysing high content data Plan and prioritise work activities Record and conduct work according to current codes of practice (e.g. lab book recording and adhering to health and safety legislation).

Your previous experience will demonstrate knowledge and practical experience in:

Assay development within the field of high content imaging, ideally with the Opera Image acquisition and analysis using Acapella software * Scientific interpretation of HCA results

Ideally you will also have knowledge and experience of:

Writing analyses scripts Confocal imaging High/medium throughput screening Drug discovery Working as part of a multidisciplinary team Alternative high content analysis software Education

* PhD or BSc/MSc with relevant research experience.
