We are a dynamic research group working at the interface of analytical chemistry and biochemistry ( Our goal is to develop and apply novel analytical tools which have the potential to enable discoveries in bioscience. Our research projects involve the use of mass spectrometry, chromatography, microfluidics, imaging, electronics, and computer technology.

We seek an enthusiastic candidate to fill up one PhD vacancy from February 2015.

The PhD project will encompass development of analytical technology and methodology to conduct chemical profiling of microscale samples with temporal resolution.

Short-listed candidate(s) will be requested to apply formally to the NCTU Office of International Affairs for admission and scholarship.

Candidate profile: - MSc degree in analytical chemistry or a related area - excellent communication skills - track-record of responsible and reliable work

Personal characteristics: - eagerness to take challenges - high level of ethics - ability to work individually and as a part of team

Other skills (at least two): - IT skills (e.g. programming in C, C++, C#, Python; proficiency in using LabView, Matlab, SPSS, CorelDraw, Inventor) - prototyping electronic circuits - microfabrication (e.g. soft lithography) - chromatography - mass spectrometry
