Science jobs from Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health:
The Department of Environmental Health Sciences at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health invites applications for faculty positions at the level of assistant and/or associate professor in the area of mechanisms of environmentally-associated human disease.

The specific areas of research interest should complement and enhance the wide range of expertise currently possessed by faculty in the department. In particular, candidates are encouraged to apply who have a track record of research pertaining to the effects of exposure to environmental factors on: 1) metabolism and immune regulation; 2) the microbiome; 3) development of neural, reproductive, or other organ systems; 4) pulmonary or cardiac pathophysiology; 5) metabolic disorders; 5) cancer.

The Department offers excellent opportunities for cross cutting interdisciplinary research in areas including mechanistic investigation of environmental diseases such as COPD, asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, lung and liver cancer, gene-environment interaction, environmental epidemiology, environmental and occupational health, toxicology, physiology and risk assessment for susceptibility to environmental diseases. Our program is strongly integrated with all major programs in the school of medicine such as pulmonary and oncology which extends the opportunities for further research collaborations for translational research. Successful applicants should have academic and research experience commensurate with the level of the appointment at the assistant or associate professor level. In particular, they should have demonstrated a record of peer-reviewed publication and will be expected to have or develop and sustain a vigorous, extramurally funded research program in this area of research. Successful applicants will also be expected to contribute to the masters and doctoral programs of the department that are supported by NIEHS, NHLBI and NIOSH training grants.

The Johns Hopkins University is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer committed to recruiting, supporting, and fostering a diverse community of outstanding faculty, staff, and students. All applicants who share this goal are encouraged to apply.
