Intellectual Property Development Scientist - Full Time Human Nutrition Research - Cambridge Salary: £26,545 - £37,410 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)

A Technology Translation Team is being established within the Unit with the aim to enhance the Unit's existing intellectual property (IP) portfolio and support further development and translation of the Unit's research across multiple research areas.

We wish to appoint an Intellectual Property Development Scientist to become the principal co-ordinator for all intellectual property development and technology translation matters within the Unit by liaising with HNR scientists and industrial partners on existing and new collaborations. You will work in very close collaboration with the MRC Technology (MRCT) Business Manager for HNR. Over time, you will be expected to develop experience and understanding to facilitate identification and assessment of unmet needs, both clinical and nutritional, that may be fulfilled through the use or adaptation of research by the Unit's scientists. Additionally, you will take a proactive role in scouting for potential translational opportunities for developing the Unit's IP.

You will need to have a strong interest for IP development and translation. Prior experience of IP protection is not essential but a solid understanding of chemistry is. You will require exceptional inter-personal, oral presentation and report writing skills and a desire to continue at least some laboratory research from time to time. You will be confident to work independently as required, to represent the Unit from time to time at meetings, but also to be a strong team member
