Science jobs from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai:
You will use the most advanced statistical methods to analyze these data and make stories out of it. You will also develop novel approaches to optimize our use of these data and build applications. Our effort to advance the analysis of NGS data can be demonstrated by the following software development:
diffReps - differential analysis for ChIP-seq: https://code.google.com/p/diffreps/ ngs.plot - quick mining and visualization of NGS data: https://code.google.com/p/ngsplot/
We will continue to develop these software that have proved to be very useful for researchers in the field. We wish you can be part of this exciting journey!
You will participate in a lot of interesting projects and be a co-author on many publications. You will learn how to analyze large-scale genomic data and become a master of it! You will also learn how to work in an interdisciplinary group and communicate your ideas clearly. If you are very quantitative in mind, like to deal with large volume of data and love challenges, this is a wonderful opportunity!
My group collaborates with multiple investigators in the department, such as Drs. Eric Nestler, Yasmin Hurd, Schahram Akbarian and Scott Russo, who are world-renowned neuroscientists. We are very well funded and are determined to do the best quality research. For more information, please visit: http://neuroscience.mssm.edu/shen/ and http://shenlab-sinai.github.io/shenlab-sinai/
