Specific Responsibilities: Biochemistry group is seeking a highly motivated individual with solid tissue culture experience to join the Mammalian Protein Expression team. The successful candidate will join our team to conduct large scale transient protein production and using stable cell line platform for antibody and antigen production to support ongoing and novel targets in our pipeline. The candidate will be responsible for handling multiple cell lines and identifying optimal transfection strategy to augment current cell culture processes to achieve high productivities of various targets.

Essential Duties and Job Functions: Able to think critically and independently plan, design and execute essential experiment to support/augment our recombinant protein production platform. Conduct stable cell line generation using conventional and/or viral transduction method as part of our mammalian recombinant protein expression strategy. Maintains familiarity with scientific literature and identify new technologies that improve workflow and throughput for protein expression. Able to take a leading role in implementing new methodology to bolster current effort. Communicate experimental strategies and results to peers and team members. Be proficient in data analysis.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills: Applicant should have a BS degree in related discipline and 9+ years of relevant experience or an MS degree with 8+ years of experience. The candidate should demonstrate in-depth knowledge of mammalian protein expression and extensive hands-on experience using multiple cell line such as 293, CHO cells and NS0 cells etc. for recombinant protein production. Should be familiar with basic biochemical technique in protein analysis. Experience in operation of flow cytometer and bioreactor is a plus. Excellent communication skills and be a team player. Be able to work independently with minimal supervision to generate high quality data in a fast-paced environment. Be able to trouble-shoot and provide alternative strategy to improve current processes.
