Science jobs from Agilent Technologies:
Conduct innovative research in the field of Cell Biology as part of a multidisciplinary team developing breakthrough technologies in genome engineering and control, stem cell biology, cancer biology, and future clinical diagnostics. Utilize experience in mammalian cell culture including generating recombinant cells, single cell analysis, and/or live cell imaging. Provide needed expertise into multidisciplinary projects concerning mammalian cell manipulation and analysis as well as live, single cell sample preparation, including those of circulating cells.

Agilent Laboratories, Agilent Technologies' central research laboratories in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a Scientist for the Molecular Tools Lab to join an interdisciplinary team comprising, chemists, biochemists, molecular biologists, cell biologists, computer scientists, mathematicians, physicists, and engineers working to invent and develop novel genome manipulation, molecular measurement and imaging methodologies for mammalian cell culture.

As part of this effort, the Scientist will: Build upon a strong working knowledge of mammalian cell culture, including stem cell manipulation, to innovate and investigate novel gene and genome engineering methods and molecular measurement technologies that impact regenerative medicine, cancer biology, and future clinical diagnostics. Collaborate closely with molecular biology, engineering, and computational research staff to design, plan and perform experiments, collect data, and conduct data analysis. Provide technical input to multiple projects that require knowledge of and experience with mammalian cell culture. Establish and participate in collaborative efforts with external thought-leaders in both academic and private sectors, when they can simultaneously accelerate Agilent's goals and provide value to external collaborators. * Communicate progress and results to the research and development team, to external collaborators, to management, and, when appropriate, to the general scientific community via presentations at scientific conferences and peer reviewed publications.

Qualifications Musts: 1. Ph.D. in Genetics, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or other relevant field with a minimum of two years of additional research experience. 2. Hands-on experience with culturing and genetic manipulation of a variety of mammalian cells including induced pluripotent stem cells and generating recombinant cell lines and maintaining long term cultures. 3. Demonstrated success in making and communicating leading edge contributions to advancing the field of cell biology. 4. Experience in live cell measurements and single cell analysis. 5. Molecular biology expertise, such as PCR, cloning, and designing expression vectors. 6. Demonstrated success in contributing to interdisciplinary teams. 7. Strong problem solving and quantitative data analysis expertise. 8. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Desired: 1. Experience maintaining a cell culture facility. 2. Background in nucleic acid measurements in situ, including slide-based sample prep. 3. Experience with immunoaffinity reagents. 4. Experience with next generation sequencing technologies. 4. Experience with single molecule measurements and advanced microscopy. 5. Experience with flow cytometry.
