JOB DESCRIPTION: A motivated student (PhD position) with background in one of following or related disciplines is desired: chemical engineering, bioengineering, biomedical engineering, biological engineering or related field. Experience in microfluidic or microscale technologies, tissue culture techniques, finite element modeling, microscopy and image analysis is preferred but not mandatory. The PI's lab is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and has access to top notch shared facilities in the surroundings. Lab is dedicated to microfluidics research and is involved in the areas of cancer research, point-of-care diagnostics, cell based assays and tissue engineering.

START DATE: Position is available immediately and will be filled as soon as a suitable candidate is found.

OTHER INFORMATION: The laboratory is located in the Krasnow Institute for Advanced Study building at George Mason University Fairfax campus. The Mason Department of Bioengineering consists of research active faculty pursuing efforts in biomedical imaging, biomechanics, neural engineering, nanotechnology, and biosensors. George Mason University Fairfax campus is located in the northern Virginia suburbs outside of Washington, D.C. Mason faculty members leverage close proximity to nearby biomedical facilities, universities, national laboratories and funding institutions.
