Competitive salary plus excellent benefits Location: Rushden, Northamptonshire Quotient is currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated Chemist to join its Rushden clinical/GMP radio synthesis team. Quotient offers a radiolabelled custom synthesis service to clients in the pharmaceutical agrochemical and industrial sectors and over the years has acquired great experience in the development of synthetic routes for the preparation and purification of radiolabelled compounds. The scope of work of the clinical/GMP radiosynthesis team covers the synthesis, purification and isolation of a wide range of labelled pharmaceutical development candidates including the isolation and analysis of chiral compounds.

Job Specification Ideally you will have experience of the radiochemical synthesis of Carbon-14 labelled molecules, using a range of techniques including; small scale synthetic organic chemistry, preparative HPLC, flash chromatography, crystallisation and a range of analytical techniques. Candidates with no radiolabelling experience but with practical experience of synthetic organic and/or development chemistry will also be considered.

Essential requirements: Degree in Chemistry and relevant practical experience Experience and track record as a practising synthetic organic chemist Experience of chromatographic techniques Good written and verbal communication skills Computer literate Ability to work with minimum supervision and as part of a team Conscientious and meticulous in laboratory work Good time management skills and ability to work to tight deadlines Proven ability to problem solve Willing to get involved with new ideas and initiatives

Desirable requirements: Carbon-14 synthesis experience preferred but not essential PHD in chemistry This position is full time and permanent. Hours of work are 37.5 per week Monday - Friday.
