The Wyss Center for Bio- and Neuroengineeing, a new research center located at Campus Biotech in Geneva, Switzerland (www.campusbiotech.ch/en/), is searching for an associate director for a full time administrative position. The Center, along with its partners at École Polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) and the University of Geneva, promotes the translation of innovative neurotechnology into useful clinical therapies or other applications for human benefit. The Wyss Center aims to accelerate the translation of novel scientific, clinical and engineering concepts to useful applications by providing advanced research technology, clinical support and business platforms, as well as direct research support. The associate director assists the Center team and its partners to integrate science, engineering, and clinical activities, working closely with the business platform to optimize product design and development from concept to commercialization. The associate director for science manages daily Center operations, including interactions with academic and clinical and industry partners and helps manage Wyss research platforms, research projects and funding initiatives. The associate director also works with Center staff to manage communications, prepare budgets, organize scientific meetings and workshops and assist directors in strategic planning. The position requires an advanced degree (Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent) in science, medicine or engineering, preferably with a strong background in basic or clinical neuroscience or in neuroengineering. Candidates should have knowledge of fundamental and clinical-translational research and some knowledge of funding mechanisms of the European and US research communities. The position requires excellent organizational skills as well as strong communication and writing abilities in English; familiarity with French is desirable.
