Reply | Report Abuse | Link to thisLove the podcast, Steve, though sometimes I hesitate to share it with friends when the tone toward non-scientific beliefs starts to get condescending or derisive. That being said, after hearing Bastardi's "analysis" I'm amazed at the restraint you showed while picking it apart. I couldn't have done the same without numerous laughs and groans, perhaps a few expletives, and even some audible forehead slaps.

I'm not, if the money collected from big polluters was given to the right cause maybe it would fly. If the fule that is causing the problem had good replacements (like cold fusion) and they talked about that... anything that was usable. They gave nothing. between their, ahh, hmm, cough, ahhs and then talking a mile a minute. This source, that source, all were misleading, but they don't say what is true. I'd hate to be Fox trying to figure out what they wanted to say. All I can say is it was boring and after listening to the whole thing, I wish I hadn't.

On Oct. 12, 1979, Super Typhoon Tip's central pressure dropped to 870 mb (25.69 inches Hg), the lowest sea-level pressure ever observed on Earth, according to NOAA. Peak wind gusts reached 190 mph (306 kph) while the storm churned over the western Pacific.
