The merchants of the city of New York have taken measures tu bestow upon Lieut. Maury, of the National Observatory, some mark of their high appreciation of what he has done for nautical science, and the benefit he has conferred upon the maritime interests of ur country. We are happy to see this movement ; it is honorable to our merchants, and obly has Lieut Maury earned the thanks and dmiration of his countrymen.
