      A Paper-Thin Illusion: Make Your Own Magnetlike Slopes [Slide Show]

      • STEP FOUR: Attach the center column to the base by gluing the four tabs at the bottom of the column. This column should lean at a steep angle.
      • STEP THREE: Attach all four of the outer slopes to the center square (S5) by gluing or taping the tab at one end of each slope to the bottom of the center square.
      • STEP TWO: Fold each column piece to form a four-sided, slightly leaning column (left). Glue the two edges of the column together using the long tab attached to one edge. The printed lines should be on the outside of the column...
      • STEP ONE: Print the patterns on card stock or another heavy paper, and cut around the edges of each pattern to create the 11 individual pieces you'll need for the illusion.
