The Dawn of ‘Dark Ages’ Astronomy
The universe’s light-starved early epochs, as well as the first stars and galaxies, lie beyond the reach of conventional observatories but could be revealed by a new generation of radio telescope arrays
Anastasia Fialkov is a professor of astrophysics and cosmology at the Institute of Astronomy, University of Cambridge. She and her research group study the theoretical and observational aspects of 21-centimeter cosmology, and work on current and near-future telescopes such as REACH, HERA, SARAS and the SKA. She also studies dark matter, fast radio bursts and a variety of other intriguing astrophysical phenomena.
