Social distancing imposes hardships, but it can save many millions of lives
Andi Burkert holds the chair for theoretical and computational astrophysics at the Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich. He is a research associate of the Max-Planck-Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics, Higgs Fellow, Counsellor of the European Astronomical Society and coordinates the cluster of excellence "From the Origin of the Universe to the First Building Blocks of Life," financed by the German Science Foundation. Between 2011 and 2014 he was president of the German Astronomical Society.
