Biftu Mengesha (she/her) is an obstetrician-gynecologist and complex family planning subspecialist at the University of California, San Francisco, where she does abortion education, advocacy and research. She is associate fellowship program director of the Complex Family Planning fellowship, associate ob-gyn residency program director and director of Innovating Education in Reproductive Health, which is a freely available online resource for sexual and reproductive health curricula, particularly for abortion and contraception.
