Preventing the attrition of students of color in science requires active intervention
Caitlin Casey is an Assistant Professor of Astronomy at the University of Texas at Austin. Her research specializes in galaxy formation in the early Universe and understanding the collapse of the Universe's large-scale structure. She is also the founder and director of the TAURUS program at UT Austin which gives undergraduate students from under-represented backgrounds first-hand research experiences in astrophysics.
