Curtis Abraham is a New York science writer currently based in East Africa where he studies the pastoralist communities of the Karimojong and Bahima of Uganda. He's a former visiting scholar-in-residence at the Avery Research Center for African American History and Culture at the College of Charleston, in South Carolina. His work has appeared in magazines such as New Scientist, Ecologist and Geographical.
