Almost every woman in science has either personally experienced or knows someone who has experienced sexual harassment, racism or assault
Emily Lescakis a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Alaska Anchorage. She is an evolutionary biologist studying host-microbe interactions using threespine stickleback fish as a model organism. Emily is originally from Upstate New York, but did her graduate work in biology and fisheries in Alaska, where she could study stickleback in their natural environment and take advantage of the outdoor opportunities the state has to offer. Emily is a leader of 500 Women Scientists.
