
The "Berlin Patient" May Not Be The Answer As HIV Research Progresses Toward A Cure
Jamie L. Vernon earned his PhD in cell and molecular biology from the University of Texas at Austin in 2009. He is currently a Cancer Research Training Award Fellow at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland, where he is trying to elucidate the immunological mechanisms involved in vaccine-elicited protection against HIV infection. Jamie will soon leave his post at NCI to become a 2011-12 AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow.
