Jenna Finwall Ryan earned her Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Loyola University Chicago and completed her dissertation on the topic of implicit egotism--the phenomenon by which we gravitate toward other people, places, and objects that share our self-attributes such as our name-letters. She performed her research internship for her degree at the FOX television series Lie to Me, which was based on the work of the real-life psychologist and "human lie detector" Dr. Paul Ekman. Jenna continues to work as a television researcher, most recently for Demi Moore's and Amanda de Cadenet's interview series The Conversation which aired on the Lifetime Television Network.
