Joshua Frieman is a theoretical and observational cosmologist and director of the Dark Energy Survey. He is a senior staff scientist at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory in Batavia, Ill., and a professor of astronomy and astrophysics at the Kavli Institute for Cosmological Physics at the University of Chicago.
