Joshua Roebke is an author and journalist. An excerpt from his forthcoming first book, a social and cultural history of particle physics entitled The Invisible World, recently won an inaugural Whiting Foundation Creative Nonfiction Grant. He is also a visiting researcher at the Institute for Historical Studies at the University of Texas in Austin, where he teaches literature and writing.
