Melvin Kohn, M.D., M.P.H., is Medical Director for Adult Vaccines at Merck. From 2000-2013 he was the State Epidemiologist and then the Public Health Director and State Health Officer for the state of Oregon. He is a graduate of Yale College, Harvard Medical School and Tulane School of Public Health, and was an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer at the Centers for Disease Control. He is Board Certified in both Pediatrics and Preventive Medicine, and a past President of the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists. A hiker, bicycler and music lover, he currently lives in Philadelphia.
