Michael Nayak spent the austral summer of 2018 at Amundsen-Scott Research Station, South Pole, Antarctica, as the principal investigator of the Long-Duration Antarctic Night and Daytime Imaging Telescope (LANDIT). He has published more than 35 journal and conference papers on interdisciplinary research ranging across aerospace engineering, planetary science, astrophysics and space mission design and space policy. He has also published articles in Parachutist, Airman, Space Review and the Houston Chronicle.
