One factor may be minorities’ lack of significant childhood experience with outdoor spaces
Michelle Guitard is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of South Florida's College of Marine Science. Her research investigates Antarctic margin ice-ocean interactions during the Quaternary (the last 2.5 million years). In addition to her own research, Michelle's scientific interests include high-latitude climate dynamics, geochemistry, and geochronology. In her free time, she loves to hike, rock climb, travel, and read.
