Noor Shakfeh is a Syrian-American woman scientist. In 2013 she traveled to camps for internally displaced persons in Syria as part of a humanitarian mission to perform a disease forecasting analysis and deliver aid. After returning to the U.S., she became deeply involved in the advocacy and community efforts to relieve the suffering of the Syrian people. Noor holds a BS in microbiology and a BA in economics from the University of South Florida, an MHS in health science from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and an MS in science policy and advocacy from Georgetown University.
