Dr. Paul S. Knoepfler is an associate professor of Cell Biology and Human Anatomy at UC Davis School of Medicine, where his lab studies stem cell and cancer cell chromatin biology. He teaches histology to medical students and developmental biology to graduate students. He is also a patient advocate and will be the recipient of the Genetic Policy Institute 2013 National Advocacy Award, previously won by Michael J. Fox. Knoepfler is the author of the new book, Stem Cells: An Insider's Guide. When he should be enjoying REM sleep, he writes the popular Knoepfler Lab Stem Cell Blog.
