Trained as a neuroscientist, Robert Finn has enjoyed a long career as a science and medical journalist. He served as the senior science writer at the California Institute of Technology, and as a freelance writer for Discover, The Scientist, Technology Review, the Los Angeles Times and many other publications. He is the author of two books for patients: Cancer Clinical Trials: Experimental Treatments and How They Can Help You (O'Reilly, 1999) and Organ Transplants: Making the Most of Your Gift of Life (O'Reilly, 2000). For 10 years he was San Francisco Bureau Chief for the International Medical News Group, a publisher of trade papers for specialty physicians. Following that he served as Assignment Editor for Medscape Medical News. In 2013 he joined the non-profit Accelerated Cure Project for Multiple Sclerosis as Executive Editor of its Multiple Sclerosis Discovery Forum. Finn resides in the San Francisco Bay Area.
