W. Carson Byrd is a sociologist focused on the intersections of race and racism, higher education, and scientific and knowledge production. He is a Senior Fellow-in-Residence in the National Center for Institutional Diversity at the University of Michigan. He was selected as a member of the 2021 cohort of William T.
