Jacob Job is a conservationist, scientist, science communicator, and natural sounds recordist. Dr. Job is currently Associate Director of Colorado State University's Bird Genoscape Project, which is dedicated to protecting migratory birds across the full annual cycle. Previously, Job led a team of undergraduate students at CSU in quantifying noise pollution in national parks and its impact on wildlife and visitor enjoyment. In addition to those duties, Job spends many days a year traveling to wilderness areas to record natural sounds, using those recordings to engage the public in conversations about public lands protection and conservation. His work is featured online and in visitor centers of Rocky Mountain, Yellowstone, Hawai'i Volcanoes, and Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, and Lewis and Clark National Historical Park. Job has a doctorate in ecology and evolutionary biology, studying how humans shape species distribution and communication, has been recognized as a National Geographic Explorer.
