How long should humans live?
Would you live forever if you could? What is a reasonable lifespan for a human being?

If I were offered the chance, I would ask for 500 years . . .assuming of course that old age only comes at about 460 years. That would give me a chance to do SO MANY THINGS . . . I would learn 10 languages, see the WHOLE PLANET almost, learn 3 musical instruments, train to do various amazing physical activities involving both skill and endurance. Alas, at 80, and still doing about 4 cycle races of about 60 miles a time, still with a sex drive, it seems as if it will be easy to reach 101 years, but not much more. Perhaps I am aiming too low, though . . .
It would make it a lot more convenient to colonize worlds orbiting other stars particularly because those left behind could learn from those who made it and maybe follow to meet the original settlers. Problem is that we don't know what kind of social organizations would evolve when families may include 10-100 generations
I would like to embark on new ventures but at 78 i feel it would be a wasted exercise. Knowing i could live healthily for another 60 years would invigorate me to look at things afresh
I will celebrate my 87th birthday in October but frankly I am getting to be a little bit bored with living, despite having 5 healthy children and 7 healthy grandchildren and I am the oldest of 7 healthy siblings.
