How should data centers be powered and regulated?
As data centers pop up everywhere across the U.S., regulation and policy is playing catch up. (At least 15 states have considered restrictions or pauses on new data center construction. ) How do you think these facilities should be powered and what regulations and restrictions would you like to see enacted by local and federal governments?

Where are the “trustworthy” government agencies required to ensure the health and safety of the people they are serving and elected to protect?
What are the bioethical implications and consequences of not having enforceable policies, accountable, transparent and reliable infrastructures in place?
What role could a fully resourced non bipartisan Department of environmental protection, HHS, DOJ, and CDC play in securing and enforcing impact assessments designed to protect public health and safety?
It seems the influential political strategists selling their egotistical ideas who have dismantled an already strained and fragile democracy for the people, and the institutions that were constitutionally created to protect human rights and society have won the economic grand prize as intended.
When scientifically rigorous, medical evidence and fact is right before our eyes, impacting all that our families fought for it is impossible to ignore the avoidable human tragedy of our own making, greed and chosen ignorance.
ALL data centers should be legally required to provide ALL their own energy from completely renewable sources. Also, they should be required to recirculate their water so they don't deplete local water sources.
Data centers should only run on renewable energy, and they should be required to pay to create the infrastructure to generate it. If the process is too slow, then they can pay - up front - for existing renewable energy generators that are replaced ASAP. So much environmental damage has been done and walked away from, with everyone else stuck with the damage while folks like the oil and gas bigwigs get rich and are subsidized by the government in the process.
