This is the time to bring out radiation treatment of fruits and vegetables. We know that it kills the bacteria, viruses and parasites and is generally considered safe. Now is the time to use it.

I haven't had this illness, but decades ago, I had salmonella from eating eggs cooked by a friend who had a breakfast party. The symptoms sound very similar. I had severe diarrhea as well as nausea and vomiting. It lasted about a week. I do wonder if microwaving, washed vegetables, like broccoli, carrots and squash is enough to kill this parasite, assuming that type of vegetables might contain the parasite. It's confusing right now, and at age 77, I hope not to have another case of explosive diarrhea, like I did at age 25.

I think I have had it twice.

However, since I didn’t visit my doctor or local hospital, who would I contact to have my cases reported?

News reports seem to be increasingly focusing in on lettuce as the vector for this parasite. Is that appropriate? For example are berries safe?
