Dr. Scott Alison has iutroduced a new instrument for the detection of diseases in the chest, which he calls the "chest goniometer," or angle measurer, by which he is emtbled to detect :he slighest deviation from symmetry, and thus to discover depression in a very early stage of consumption, and to mark the pro-! gress of the disease, whether favorable or un-' favorable. The instrument is of ivory, and 3 very light and portable.—London Lancet.
