Robert Crichton, of Birmingham, Pa,, has taken measures to secure a patent for an improved machine for making metai bolts. There are two new improvements claimed for this machine, viz , the employment and use of holding jaws, so arranged as to hold the bar of which the bolts are made, while the form-iog laws and heading dies ait* firming the bolt. It s'so consists in a pecnbai arrangement of Uie heading dies to !'ba. ' of the bolts. Measures have been taken to secure a patent.
